SAIGON DAY THREE

Sleeping at church felt no different from sleeping at Claudia's. I've just been drained of all my energy every single day that I can't even remember the process of how I fell asleep(which usually takes really long).

We heard an incessant knocking at 6ish and I felt so cheated when Chuong's mum said we had to leave by 7 when Chuong said we would be leaving at 8. MY SLEEP, oh how precious. Well, you can't disobey the elderly so I jumped into the shower to perk myself up and off we went! We took a cab to a bus station which took us somewhere near Mekong.

The bus was filled with old and cute people. I totally fell asleep for the one hour or so that we were in it.

The shop where we had breakfast. FYI, My Tho means beautiful lady.

The people preparing my breakfast :) I love watching people in action.

HUE TIEU SATE <3 It's so yummy I can't explain how yummy it is.

Really strong coffee to wake me up from my perpetual slumber.

Look at my forced smile. I mean, my facial muscles still think I'm asleep you know.

 At the harbour/port.

Cutesy boats. We went up a boat and we had a tour guide telling us all about the Mekong River and about the islands that line it. We visited three islands I think but I cant remember their names. So the first island we went to, we had honey.

It was legit honey poured into these small cups with lime added to it. Amazing stuff.

That thing is filled with bees. They would let you put your finger there so that you taste the pure honey but I wouldn't do it. The sight of it makes my hair stand. This trip really made me feel like  coward. Haha!

Just the four of us again :) We're like a gang.

GUESS WHAT GUYS. I, VENESSA NEO, CARRIED A PYTHON. Initially I was like NO. NO WAY WOULD I EVEN TOUCH OR GO NEAR THAT THING. Haha I wonder what came over me.

The pretty Abby in a traditional Vietnamese costume and hat :)

 I said, "It's so heavy!"
Abby went, "IT'S ONLY THREE DRAGONFRUITS"
I asked myself why am I always the joke of the day.

We had fruits! All of them have like different meanings and you've got to eat them in like a sequence for best flavour. It was pretty good.

Took these Sampan boats on the Mekong Delta and saw so many mudskippers. They are actually blue when they are tiny! So adorable but quite gross to see them in bulk.

The hats. And the guy posing also, photobomb!

We then set off to another island! I absolutely love this picture. We all look so happy.

THE RICE PAPER IS REALLY YUMMMMMY. Bought a packet home :)

We took a horse cart ride around the island but there wasn't much to see! We went to another island for lunch!

In this island, they are famous for their elephant ear fish(You have no idea how much effort I put in to take this picture, he moved so fast.)

Yeah, Chuong can carry the both of us! (AS IF)

 Our lunch.

LIVE COCONUT WORMS. I was supposed to eat it and I think Chuong took an hour to convince me but the answer was still no. I'm really not the adventurous sort of girl in this sense where I eat gross stuff. No way. In the end Chuong's mum took my share so the four of them each had a worm :)

Fed some really hungry crocodiles. I felt sad for them actually to see that their compound is so small and it's just for human entertainment.

After that, we left Mekong and went to a snake farm. There were so many snakes which I really don't fancy.

I like how bright this green snake is though. Hung has two at home. His house is like a zoo or something.

Played around with the effects on my camera.

While waiting for the bus back! I like the rubble on the ground.

I don't exactly remember what happened that night but I knew we were so tired.

I can't believe we were halfway into our trip already. I tried talking to Hung that day.

"I'm sorry I didn't talk to you yesterday. You were so quiet."

"I'm not good with my English so I didn't talk to you. But I will go and learn English, so that when you come back, I can talk with you in English."

I couldn't help but AWW in my mind. Such a sweet gesture. Great day, great experience :)
